England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The show will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
