Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

US entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a announcement.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
